2024 CCB Workshop on Making Videos

On January 9, 2024, I have joined the "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Making & Managing Video" workshop on preparing video content for online classes at the Costello College of Business. Big thanks to a wonderful instruction of Eric Neitzke and Tonya Howe who shared the best practices of using technology to produce educational video content!

During the workshop, I learned of several ways to produce content with available technology and in additional office hours was able to get more guidance on how to bridge the gap in production of engaging content. Below, I describe the pipeline that I developed for myself and implemented in the most recent online course. Note that this is one of the few options that I have tried and I look forward to streamlining it further.

My pipeline for the video was as follows:

1. I created a draft of the script using ChatGPT.

2. Next, I edited the script for text-to-speech conversion, e.g., spelling the name of the course and abbreviations.  

3. Next, I fed the script in ElevenLabs for voiceover.

4. I used iMovie to combine presentation slides and the audio from Step 3.

5. Uploaded the video from step 4 in Kaltura.

6. Created Quiz in Kaltura.

7. Published it on the Blackboard course.
